Bakalar je poslastica i delicija u mojoj, kao i u većini drugih obitelji, posebno u primorskom dijelu Hrvatske. Bakalar je više od jela... simbol je Božića i jelo velikog posta, nekad najsiromašnijih, a danas i svih drugih! 
Pa zavirite u našu teću i kušajte bakalar kakav možda još niste! Uslast!

Sastojci: 
1 veliki bakalar, što je veći to je bolji, 1 glavicu bijelog luka, 1 - 1,5 kg bijelog krumpira, vezica peršina, 2 dl bijelog vina, 3-4 dl maslinovog ulja , sol, papar

Bakalar namočiti u hladnoj vodi 2-3 dana prije spremanja. Mijenjati vodu 2-3 puta na dan. Ako je prevelik nasjeći na 2-3 dijela. Kuhati ga u većem loncu najmanje 1 sat. 
Očistiti od kostiju i kožice i svih drugih dijelova koji nisu čisto i bijelo meso.
Vodu u kojoj se kuhao bakalar procijediti, posoliti i u njoj skuhati krumpir narezan na kocke. Usitniti češnjak i peršin. Ugrijati u široj posudi 2 dl maslinovog ulja, dodati češnjak i peršin. 
Kad zamiriše odmah staviti meso bakalara. 
Malo pirjati i zaliti vinom... Kad vino ispari dodati po malo vode - juhe od bakalara i kuhati tako oko pola sata. 
Umiješati kuhani krumpir i dolijevati istu juhu... 
Umiješati i preostalo ulje. Posoliti i popapriti po vlastitom guštu ali ne smije faliti ni ulja ni svježe mljevenog papra...
Prilikom serviranja nakapati  još malo svježeg maslinovog ulja...

Festive smoked cod

Cod fish is a delicacy  in my, like most other families, especially in the coastal part of Croatian. 
Cod is more than food ...it is a symbol of Christmas and eating... the great feast, once for the poorest, and today, and all others!
Let's take a look at our pot and try the cod! Bon appetit!

Ingredients:
1 large smoked cod,  1 head of garlic, 1 to 1.5 kg of white potatoes, a bunch of parsley, 2 dl white wine, 3-4 dl olive oil, salt, pepper

Preparation:

Cod soaked in cold water for 2-3 days before cooking. Change the water 2-3 times a day. If it's too big chop to 2-3 parts. Cook it in a larger pot for at least 1 hour.
Cleaned of bones and skins and other parts that are not clean and white meat.
The water in which the cooked cod strain, add salt and in it cook the potatoes cut into cubes. Chop the garlic and parsley. Warm up in a wider pot 2 dl olive oil, add the garlic and parsley.
When you smell it immediately put the meat of cod.
Few simmer and pour the wine ... When the wine evaporates add some water - soup of cod and cook for around half an hour.
Stir the cooked potatoes and refuel same soup ...
Stir the remaining oil. Add salt and pepper according to your own liking and pour olive oil ...
When serving instilled a little fresh olive oil ...
